As noted at the event, sample surveys in 10,000 households will be conducted annually in all regions.
In order to improve cooperation with international organizations and provide reliable statistics during 2018, questionnaires were filled out on literacy, population education, and the possibility of using and connecting households to ICT facilities and were provided by UNESCO and the International Telecommunication Union.
In particular, according to the results of household monitoring in 2018, the share of households with access to the Internet was 80.9%. The proportion of Internet users aged 10 years and older is 55.2%, of which 60.4% are men and 50.2% are women.
The program for conducting a household monitoring survey examines the demographic characteristics and educational level of household members, housing conditions, the availability of communal services, business conditions, sources of general and family incomes. It also defines production activities, benefits, unacceptable expenses and payments, security with durable goods, availability and use of alternative energy sources in households, the possibility of using ICT funds in households.
In connection with the equipping of enterprises of the republic with durable goods in 2018, the following was observed: TVs - 155 units, vacuum cleaners - 55 units, washing machines - 81 units, refrigerators - 103 units, personal computers - 52 units, cars - 44 units, air conditioners - 35 units, mobile phones - 262 units.
In addition, at a press conference, information was provided on Uzbekistan joining the UN Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015, up to 2030, among the UN member states. This agenda covers 17 goals and 169 goals to be achieved by 2030 at the global level.
The sustainable development action plan serves their well-being and prosperity for the benefit of people, all living things on the planet.
One of the key principles of the goals of sustainable development is to not leave anyone aside, that is, to create equal opportunities for everyone, regardless of age, gender, social status, nationality of each person in society.
At this conference, the work carried out in the republic in this direction was also affected. In particular, it was noted that the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 20, 2018 No. 841 approved 16 national goals and 125 tasks in the field of sustainable development until 2030, as well as approved 206 national indicators developed jointly with relevant ministries, departments and UN agencies this year. In order to monitor the achievement of the sustainable development goals, with the support of the UN Development Program, the SDG website was developed and launched.
At the same time, it was noted that the ongoing work in this direction will continue in the future with the involvement of international experts.
As a result of the press conference, it was specially noted that the main goal of the work in the state statistics bodies is to ensure that open and reliable information about socio-economic transformations and reforms taking place in the Republic of Uzbekistan is reflected in the databases of international organizations and leading international ratings.
