On December 12, 2024, the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a presentation on the results of the meeting of the expert group on strengthening the factual base on migration in North and Central Asia, which took place on December 3-4 of this year at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific in Bangkok, Thailand.
During the presentation, Deputy Head of the Department of Demography, Labor and Gender Statistics of the agency Abraev Sherzod Khurromovich, who participated in this meeting, shared with the agency staff the knowledge and skills gained from research on topical issues related to migration in North and Central Asia, namely migration policy, gender aspects of migration, integration of migrants, money transfers and the cost of making money transfers.
During the presentation, an exchange of views on this topic took place, and the participants received detailed answers to all their questions.
