Today, October 30, a meeting was held at the Agency for Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with representatives of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to discuss preparations for the 2026 Population Census.
Participants included the Head of the UNFPA Office, Nigina Abaszade, her Deputy, Kamolkhon Inomkhodjayev, and the Head of the Population Development Program, Azam Toshpulatov.
Representing the Agency for Statistics were the Agency Director, Bahodir Abdusalomovich Begalov; Head of the Department for Census Organization and Conduct, Kobil Berdikulov; Head of the Department for International Cooperation and Information Exchange, Odiljon Mamadaliev; Head of the Department for Information and Communication Technology Development and Interactive Public Services, Shokhruh Odilov; and Head of the Information Security Department, Shakhboz Janadilov.
The meeting focused on organizing the census process in alignment with international standards, providing technical assistance, and involving international experts. Participants also exchanged views on analyzing census results and communicating them to the public.
During the discussions, both parties shared experiences and proposed solutions to current issues. At the conclusion of the meeting, an agreement was reached to strengthen collaboration in preparation for and effective organization of the census.
