On September 10, 2024, the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a presentation on the results of the training course organized on the topic "High-frequency indicators of economic activity - quarterly national accounts". This training course was organized by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Joint Vienna Institute on August 19-30 of this year in Vienna, Austria.
During the presentation, Ulugbek Karimov, Deputy Head of the Agency's Department of Industry and Energy Statistics, Davron Kushchiyev, senior specialist of the Department of Macroeconomic Indicators and National Accounts, and Bakhromjon Orifov, leading specialist of this Department, who participated in this training course, shared the knowledge and skills they had acquired in connection with the results of the training course to the agency's employees.
The main objective of the course was to develop knowledge and skills of participants as well as to address theoretical and practical issues related to the nature and potential use of high-frequency statistics of economic activity, the selection of indicators, the consistency between quarterly and annual national accounts, seasonal adjustment, data dissemination and revision.
The event also included an exchange of views on the topic and detailed answers to questions of interest to the participants.
