The main tasks of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on
Statistics are as follows:

- to
develop and carry out a uniform policy in the
field of statistics, ensure the effective system of statistics
organization meeting modern international requirements and
standards;

- to develop
and introduce scientifically proved uniform statistical methodology
adequate to the main principles of market economy and system of
indicators that ensure compilation of national accounts and correspond
to international statistical standards;

- to
ensure immediacy, accuracy, objectivity of statistical and reporting
indicators comprehensively characterizing processes, occurring in
economic and social life of the community;

- to
provide the state authorities and agencies of self-government of
citizens, legal persons, public institutions and international
organizations and general public with statistical information in the
prescribed manner.
